Skipton and Craven Action for Disability

These are some of the pictures from our canal boat trip in Skipton, we joined SCAD on their specially adapted canal barge for a day on the Skipton Canal. We had a buffet lunch and enjoyed the scenery. We had amazing feedback from the trip and residents were joined by their loved ones for the day.

“SCAD was formed in 1981 by Marjorie Charlesworth and a group of likeminded individuals who celebrated the International Year of the Disabled by creating the charity which now provides over 15,000 journeys each year to those with mobility problems.

The organisation has grown over the last 30 years, most recently under the leadership of Board Chairs Elizabeth Grey, Gaynor Hirst and Norah Oldfield alongside CEO Roy Aldread (who retired in June 2017 after 13 years)” Taken directly from the website for SCAD
